VTI Technologies and Japanese Kanematsu Corporation have signed a distribution agreement. According to the agreement, Kanematsu will sell and market VTI's acceleration and pressure sensor products to the Japanese consumer electronics industry.

"The cooperation with Kanematsu in Japan will bring a great addition to our coverage in the Japanese consumer electronics industry and further improve our service level in the region", comments Tomy Runne, Head of Tokyo Office, VTI Technologies Oy.

"Kanematsu Corporation has a long history especially in electronics market. As a result, we have a lot of experience with almost all companies in Japan. We at Kanematsu believe that VTI's products including the accelerometers and pressure sensors have tremendous potential in consumer electronics market. The technology of VTI and the experience of Kanematsu will give the best solution to all customers at sensor era", states Mr. Konishi Yutaka, Executive General Manager, Key Devices Dept. 1, Module & Devices Division.

The agreement with Kanematsu is part of VTI's sales and partnership strategy. The ability to provide sensors internationally and support the market with local distributors is a key factor in optimizing sales and customer services.

VTI has recently announced its latest product innovation, the SCA3000. The SCA3000 is a 3-axis accelerometer that can be used to measure acceleration, detect motion and inclination. It can be used in a variety of consumer applications, like portable navigation devices, sports equipment and hand-held devices such as mobile phones, personal digital assistants and more.

VTI's another recent innovation, the SCP1000 pressure sensor family, provides measuring modes that give an opportunity to choose the optimum combination of accuracy and current consumption. High accuracy pressure sensing and compact size creates new opportunities e.g. in sports and wellness, terminal and medical fields.
