The SCA8X0/21X0/3100-family for safety critical automotive applications

The SCA8X0/21X0/3100 is a comprehensive range of sensors intended for integration into a variety of electronic systems developed for vehicle safety and control. They have been developed to combine reliability and high performance sensing with excellent cost-effectiveness and accuracy.

The SCA8X0/21X0/3100 family offers acceleration and inclination sensing as a complete platform in ±2/6g measurement ranges, which can have the same pin-out in one-, two- and three-axis accelerometers if lead-free dual flat in line package. All sensors have 3.3V supply voltage with SPI communication and advanced self test features are included. Measurements in X-, Y- and Z -direction as well as any combination of two and three directions are possible. The SCA8X0/21X0/3100 family is automotive qualified according to AEC Q100 Grade 1 (temperature range -40 ºC… +125 ºC).

Application areas include Electronic Stability Control (ESC), Hill Start Assistant (HSA), Electronic Parking Brake EPB, Roll Over Detection and Electrically Controlled Suspension systems. Most of these applications require the ability to sense several directions at the same point.

New low power SCA3060 family

SCA3060 power consumption is very low for industrial sensors (150 µA in active measurement). Component also features built-in motion detection and ring buffer memory for power and µC resource management and wake-up functioning. SCA3060 is aimed for industrial and automotive non-safety critical applications like position sensing, navigation aid, anti-theft vehicle alarms, black boxes etc.

SCA3060 is automotive qualified according to AEC Q100 Grade 2 (temperature range -40 ºC… +105 ºC). The DFL (Dual Flat Lead) packaging technology - familiar from VTI's high end automotive ESC sensor family - enables reliable operation in tough environments throughout component lifetime. Product has both SPI and I2C version with 3.3V supply.
